Abigail Rose’s Bio
Hi! Thanks for visiting my website. I’m Abigail Rose and music is my passion. I love to listen to it, play it, write it and sing it! My family has always been appreciative of all genres of music so I listened to a wide variety growing up. From The Wallflowers (my first concert) to Jack Johnson to Sheryl Crow, I love it all!
I learned at an early age that music was going to be a huge part of my life. My mom even says that when I was little, I would start singing songs I came up with. The grocery was my favorite spot to test them out :). As I got older, I started to put my ideas and melodies together, which got me interested in songwriting. When I got my first guitar for my 11th birthday, I realized I had found a way to add music to all of my ideas. Shortly after this, I wrote my first song, “Believe in Me.” I haven’t stopped writing since and I really don’t think I ever will. This year, I have really focused on co-writing. I feel very blessed with all of the writers I have had the chance to collaborate and create music with. It is really fun to go into a room and just bounce ideas off of each other and come up with a song that could be what you were thinking or it could have turned into something totally different!
I received a really valuable piece of information a few years ago from a person I highly respect. He told me that “good is never enough…you need to push yourself and your music to be great.” I want the world to remember me as great, not just good. So that is what I work on everyday. Creating music that is great!
One thing that is almost as good as writing music is performing it on stage. That’s where I feel at home. I’ve been lucky enough to perform at amazing venues like The Bluebird Café in Nashville, my hometown, and Joe’s Bar in Chicago. I’ve gotten to open for acts such as, Sara Evans, Josh Kelley and Florida Georgia Line.
I am so blessed because I have the best support team. My parents have always stood by me and supported my dream. I can’t thank them enough because they are the ones who believed in me enough to let me chase this dream! My brother and sister are my role models. They are my cheerleaders and the inspiration for a lot of my songs :). The Sohr Family has been incredible and unwavering since the beginning. They are like my second family, always supporting me, encouraging me, traveling to my shows and just caring for me. About a year ago, Ruth Franklin joined my team as my Development Manager. She has supported me since the beginning so it is really special to have her be a part of my journey! It means a lot to have people believe in you and cheer for you. So, thank you!
I am passionate about writing songs and playing my music for people. It is my dream to perform my music in front of millions of people and I am determined to keep writing and playing until that happens. Thank you for reading my story.
